Studying for JLPT N5? This campaign is for you.

If you have started learning Japanese and are working towards JLPT N5 (or have already passed it), the April 2027 intake can be a great next step.

  • Turn your Japanese studies into a real study plan in Japan
  • Get guidance on showing your Japanese learning to the school
  • Prepare for the school interview with our support

JLPT N5 describes who this campaign is aimed at — it is not a guaranteed eligibility rule. The school's actual requirements are confirmed during your consultation.

Quick eligibility check

These are the questions we will discuss with you. Answering 'yes' to most of them is a good sign — but the school makes the final decision.

  1. 1Have you completed your secondary education (for example, GCE O/L or A/L)?
  2. 2Have you studied Japanese, or are you studying towards JLPT N5 or an equivalent level?
  3. 3Do you have a valid passport, or can you obtain one in time?
  4. 4Can a family member or sponsor support your tuition and living costs in Japan?
  5. 5Are you able to attend an interview with the school?
  6. 6Are you ready to commit to full-time study in Japan?

NOVIRA GLOBAL provides guidance only. Admission decisions are made by the school, and visa decisions are made by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan and the Embassy of Japan. No admission or visa outcome can be guaranteed.

How the interview process works

Most Japanese language schools interview applicants before accepting them. Here is what to expect.

  1. 01

    Preparation with NOVIRA GLOBAL

We run practice sessions so you feel confident about the questions and format.

  2. 02

    School interview

The school talks with you (usually online) about your background, reasons for studying in Japan and your plans.

  3. 03

    Japanese check

You may be asked to introduce yourself or answer simple questions in Japanese.

  4. 04

    Result and next steps

The school informs you of its decision. If accepted, we guide you through the COE and visa steps.
